Remote registration of PESEL in Poland

Powszechny Elektroniczny System Ewidencji Ludności is an 11-digit identification number assigned to individuals in Poland. It is obligatory for access to medical services, medical treatment, social payments, registration in public health facilities, opening of banking accounts and other administrative procedures.

In 2025, Poland introduced the MOS digital platform, which allows you to register your PESEL ID number remotely. This became part of a broader reform aimed at simplifying procedures for foreigners. There are changes among Ukrainians who are on the stand for temporary protection or other forms of legalization.

Applying for a number online allows you to save time, save time, and submit your application right away. After registering in the MOS system, the client fills out the application form, obtains scanned copies of documents, adds a photo and confirms the residence address. In some cases, you may need to confirm the person via video call or electronic signature.

What is required for registration

In order to successfully complete the registration procedure through the MOS platform and obtain a PESEL number, the applicant must prepare a basic package of documents. It is important that all files are clearly scanned and that the data is up to date:

  • Passport or other document identifying the person.
  • Photo 35×45 mm in digital format.
  • A document that confirms the proof of re-entry (for example, entry after 02/24/2022).
  • Addresses of actual residence in Poland.
  • The electronic form has been added to the MOS system.
  • Electronic signature or BankID (as available).

After submitting an application, the system forces confirmation, and the number is assigned over a period of several days. Whenever necessary, a customer may be asked for a short online verification.

Why is the PESEL number important for foreigners in Poland?

For foreigners, especially citizens of Ukraine, the visibility of the identifier is critically important. Wine is the basis for legal and full-fledged travel in the country. Without it, it is practically impossible to implement the basic rights provided by Polish law.

Why is the PESEL number for Ukrainians and representatives of other countries not just a formality, but a necessary integration tool:

  • Official practice. Registration in ZUS becomes cumbersome without a clear number, and therefore the worker cannot formally draw up an employment contract. PESEL allows you to make insurance contributions that contribute to your future pension and the right to healthcare. It is also required for laying the soil about the wickerwork.
  • Medical assistance. To gain access to the health care system (NFZ), you need PESEL. With this help you can register with a family medicine doctor, fill prescriptions, undergo treatment and undergo treatment at a doctor’s office. Without an identifier, medical assistance is subject to unnecessary complications.
  • Banking services. All Polish banks require identification for opening a bank account, withdrawing a debit or credit card, registering a deposit or a mortgage. This helps eliminate the risk of investment and ensures financial insight.
  • Social payments. To receive government support, such as 800+ for children, housing subsidy (płatność socjalna) or living assistance, you need to register in the system with an identifier.
  • Navchannya. Children can be registered before school, and students can be registered before initial deposits. PESEL is eligible for registration in public registers and scholarships.
  • The card has been beaten. When applying for a long-term status, the PESEL number is a binding document. It confirms registration at the place of residence and integration into the administrative system of the region.
  • Registration in sovereign systems. For working with the ePUAP portal, filing submissions, business registration (CEIDG), withdrawing electronic signatures and other digital services. Wine becomes the main identifier of interaction with a power.
Important nuances
So, the Ukrainian registration number for PESEL is not just a digital code, but a key to the system that allows a foreigner to become a full-fledged participant in the social, economic and legal spheres of Poland

Advantages of remote registration

Transitioning to the digital MOS system means removing the number from the process. Now you don’t need to make special adjustments, check in boxes, or transfer documents manually:

  • Possibility of submitting an application at any time.
  • Swedish design without bureaucratic hassles.
  • Saving time and money on travel.
  • Prozora system with confirmation of the skin stage.
  • Securely save data and protect personal information.

Registration online is a current approach that meets the needs mobile communities and the benefits of the digital age.

How to check the status of your application

After submitting documents via MOS, the customer receives confirmation by email or in a special account. There you can check the status of your application, make edits or add documents. What messages may appear and mean:

  • Status “Accepted” – application is being processed.
  • “This is a clarification” – you need to add or correct the data.
  • Status “Assigned” – the number is already active.
  • “Rejected” – the application does not meet the criteria.
Important nuances
Once you are registered, you can resubmit your application or contact us for clarification.

Find the PESEL number, which is the process will require respect before the digital system becomes significantly accessible.

Nuances and important additions

PESEL is not just a set of numbers, but a part of the state register, so it is important to keep an eye on its relevance. If a person changes their residential address, nickname or other personal data, the information must be updated either via MOS.

If you lose a document that does not need to be renewed, the number itself is lost, otherwise you can cancel a new confirmation or remove it from the registry. If a person leaves Poland for the most important term, especially with the intention of revoking their status in another EU country, PESEL may be canceled and access to social services may be restricted.

It is also important to remember that the number does not have the same meaning as a classic device, but its functionality depends on the reboot status. For example, PESEL UKR is only active between time-locked programs, and when the status changes (the card is broken, the card is broken, etc.), updates or replacements may be made.

In cases where a person has withdrawn PESEL, unless he spends time on it, the necessary sanctions are not applied – the number is lost in the registry, otherwise it may require updating. It is important to save copies of documents related to registration, and regularly check changes in legislation.

History of the company's founders

History of the company's founders

More than ten years ago, Pavlo and Antonina Gvozdiev moved to Poland and personally faced a difficult task – the legalization process. Since at that time there were no firms that could professionally help with legalization in Poland, they decided to go this way on their own.

In-depth study of the legislation, attention to detail and practical experience in solving complex situations allowed them not only to successfully legalize, but also to acquire unique knowledge, which today forms the basis of the company’s activities.

Based on their own experience, Pavlo and Antonina created a company that has been helping foreigners and employers in Poland for more than 10 years. Today, they lead a team of specialists for whom the main values are professionalism, transparency and results.

Questions and answers

How long does it take to check for the assigned PESEL number?

+

After submitting all necessary documents, the procedure for assigning a PESEL number will certainly not take more than 7 business days. If you submit an application at the same time due to the registered refills, the number is often given in advance or over the course of several days. The status of the certificate can be clarified in the country where you submitted the documents. For the citizens of Ukraine, within the framework of a special law, the process is significantly accelerated.

How can I cancel PESEL if I do not register my place of residence?

+

The presence of a residence address in Poland is one of the key advantages for obtaining a number for Ukrainians and other foreigners. This address is required for official registration. Without confirming your address, we will not be able to assign you a number, as long as we have connections to the local commune. If you are staying at a hotel or on a private basis, you will need to obtain written confirmation from the landlord.

What can I do if I spend a document with a designated number?

+

There is no physical document that confirms the PESEL number. This data is in the database. If you have lost a paper document (for example, a decision about appropriation), you can go back to the order where it was given to you, with an application for the release of a duplicate. You can also find it in official forms from social services, on other documents, or you can remove information immediately when applying for a passport.

How does the PESEL number change throughout life?

+

No, a unique number is assigned to a person once for the entire life and never changes, depending on the change of name or community status. VIN is deprived of a permanent identifier in the Polish system. This excludes any other documents that may be updated that contain your personal data.

How can I get PESEL while traveling across the borders of Poland?

+

Unfortunately, it’s impossible to cancel the number without being physically active in the country. The basis for its assignment is the fact of your stay in the territory of Poland and registration at your place of residence. This procedure requires your special presence or the presence of your representative with a notarized power of attorney in the order. The remote method via ePUAP also makes the Polish address visible.

How can I apply for PESEL remotely?

+

Thus, in 2025, Poland introduced the MOS platform, which allows for the registration of a PESEL identification number remotely. For your understanding, the person has Profil Zaufany and is registered at her residence address. However, not all activities support social distancing in practice. In many situations, a special presence is still prominent, especially when the status is first registered or changed.
